Uniko: You're Going to Flip - Introducing Ink & Flip Geometric Butterfly Layering Stencil

Good morning!

I hope you've been enjoying Uniko's You're Going to Flip Week!

We've finally reached Friday which means we can now introduce the new addition to the Ink & Flip family...Ink & Flip Geometric Butterfly Layering stencil.

The team have some great projects using this new stencil set, which is a two stencil set, one which creates the background and the other which creates a central butterfly.

I've used the stencil which creates the focal butterfly and also used Background Blocks Pinstripe and a sentiment from the Just Because set...

I inked up the first side of the stencil with a dark purple shade and a bright pink when flipped to complete the image.  I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and, before adhering to the card base, I stamped the pinstripes in opposite corners of the card base in the same ink colours.  The sentiment strip was mounted on 3D foam and completed the card.

Materials used:
  • Stencil: Uniko - Ink & Flip Geometric Butterfly Layering stencil
  • Stamps: Uniko - Background Blocks Pinstripe, Just Because
  • Ink: Altenew - Rubellite, Ultraviolet; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Double Stitched Rectangles

I hope you like what you see.  The new stencil set will be available to purchase from the Uniko shop, here, tomorrow from 9am BST.

And please do pop back tomorrow and also check out the Uniko blog, here, where there will be the usual Release Day Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Uniko: You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering Stencil Revisited

Good morning

More Ink & Flip inspiration for you today from Uniko.

Each day this week, Bev and the Brand Ambassadors are revisiting the existing Ink & Flip stencils, ahead of a new release stencil set which will be available from Saturday.  Be sure to check out the Uniko blog to see lots of inspiration from the team.

So today is all about the Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering Stencils.  You can use the two stencils together or just use the central geometric heart on its own.

I have two cards for you today and have used just the central heart on these, and for my first I've kept it super clean and simple...

I inked up using the first side of the stencil with Distress Oxide ink in Speckled Egg.  I then cleaned the stencil, flipped it over and then spread over the stencil using a mix of stencil paste and Distress Oxide ink in Kitsch Flamingo.  This was then left to dry before finishing the card with a sentiment from the Flower Power #3 set in black ink.

Materials used:
  • Stencil: Uniko - Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering Stencil
  • Stamps: Uniko - Flower Power #3 (sentiment)
  • Ink: Distress Oxide - Speckled Egg, Kitsch Flamingo; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Stencil Paste: Sweet Poppy - Stencil Dimensions in Pearlescent White

For my other card I dug out by Brusho pigment powders...

On some watercolour card I laid the heart stencil down, sprinkled sparingly with purple Brushos and then spritzed with a mist of water to release the pigment.  I removed the stencil and left the pigment to dry, then I flipped the stencil and repeated the process using blue Brushos to complete the heart.  I had a rummage in my coloured papers and found this co-ordinating purple jacquard paper, also with a geometric pattern.  I used a border die, trimmed down the panel and adhered it to the card base, leaving the patterned paper showing at the base.  I finished with a sentiment from the Just Because stamp set.

Materials used:
  • Stencil: Uniko - Ink & Flip Geometric Heart Layering stencil
  • Stamps: Uniko - Just Because
  • Ink: Brushos - Purple, Ultramarine; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Dies: Stampin' Up Edgelits - Adorning Accents; Altenew - Featured Sentiments
  • Patterned paper from stash

I hope these have given you some inspiration today.  Don't forget to visit the Uniko blog, here, to see the Brand Ambassadors' makes using this stencil set, and we'll be showcasing another tomorrow.

Uniko: You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Snowflake Revisited

Hi guys

Welcome to another day in the Uniko You're Going to Flip Week!

Each day this week, Bev and the Brand Ambassadors are revisiting the existing Ink & Flip stencils, ahead of a new release stencil set which will be available from Saturday.  Be sure to check out the Uniko blog to see lots of inspiration from the team.

Today we are revisiting Ink & Flip Snowflake stencil.  This one is great for creating those Christmas or winter themed backgrounds.

Here is my sample card and I've paired the stencil with the Festive Sentiments Clear Stamps...

Although the stencil is square I used it here on an A6 card, still keeping the design centralised.  I chose frosty colours in pale lilac and pale blue.  Ink up using one colour, clean the stencil and flip it, and ink up with the second colour.  With these Ink & Flip stencils keep in mind that parts will overlap so choose colours that will blend well in the overlapping sections.  I finished with a bold black sentiment and added some smooth silver gems around the centre of the design.

Materials used:
  • Stencil: Uniko - Ink & Flip Snowflake
  • Stamps: Uniko - Festive Sentiments
  • Ink: Altenew - Soft Lilac, Polar Bear; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Gems from stash

Don't forget to visit the Uniko blog, here, to see more projects created by the team.  Another from the Ink & Flip series will be revisited tomorrow.  Thanks for looking.

Uniko: You're Going to Flip - Ink & Flip Christmas Star Revisited

Good morning

If you saw my post yesterday then you will know all about the Uniko You're Going to Flip Week!

Each day this week, Bev and the Brand Ambassadors are revisiting the existing Ink & Flip stencils, ahead of a new release stencil set which will be available from Saturday.  Be sure to check out the Uniko blog to see lots of inspiration from the team.

Ok, today we are revisiting Ink & Flip Christmas Star.  This stencil creates a central star and it's not just for Christmas as you will see from my card today and others made by the team.

Here is my make, and I've paired the stencil with the Tropical Leaf I stencil and also the Wild Clear Stamp set...

I inked up the first side of the stencil with a pale green ink and, with it still in place, I laid the leaf stencil over the top and inked it up in a darker green.  I used the leaf stencil twice, for the top and bottom.  I then cleaned the stencil and flipped it over and inked it up for a second time in a different light shade, to create the central star.  And once again, lined up the leaf to complete the images in the same darker green as before.  To finish this one layer card, I stamped the sentiments from the Wild set, in black and brown ink.

Materials used:
  • Stencils: Uniko - Ink & Flip Christmas Star, Tropical Leaf I
  • Stamps: Uniko - Wild
  • Ink: Altenew - Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Misty Moor; Versafine Clair - Nocturne, Fallen Leaves

I think this shows how versatile this star stencil could be.  It's a square stencil but works great when used on different sized cards too, and offset like I have here.

So, be sure to check out the Uniko blog, here, over the next few days to see the Brand Ambassadors' makes using all the stencils in the series. I'll be back tomorrow with another!

Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration - 3 Stamp Sets 1, One-Layer Card

Good morning

I'm back with some Uniko Brand Ambassador Inspiration today.

I was recently tasked with making an 18th birthday card for my godson and masculine cards are the kind I find the most difficult, so to make one for an older teenager was even more daunting!  I had a rummage through my Uniko stash and decided to combine three stamp sets: Big & Bold HappyBackground Blocks Halftone and Explosion!

And other than the number dies I adhered, this is a completely flat, one layer card with all the elements stamped directly on the card base.  For full details of how this was made, take a look at my post over on the Uniko blog, here.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Big & Bold Happy, Background Blocks Halftone, Explosion!
  • Ink: Altenew - Autumn Blaze, Nimbus, Olive, Vineyard Berry; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Dies: Spellbinders - Be Bold Lowercase Alphabet and Numbers

I was really pleased with how this one turned out and I hope this gives you some inspiration for those trickier masculine designs.

Enjoy the rest of your week, and with the Easter weekend approaching we are already past the halfway point of the working week.  Mustn't grumble, eh!  I hope you have some lovely plans for the long weekend.

Uniko March 2024 Non-Release Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Hi there

It's time for another Non-Release Brand Ambassador Blog Hop and Giveaway at Uniko.  On non-release months the team revisit previously released products and give them some well-deserved love.  For this month, we are revisiting the gorgeous stamp sets in the Spring Botanicals series.

I have two cards for you today, both were made for Mother's Day, which was yesterday in the UK.  They are both very similar in design but I've used different techniques on each.

First up I've used the beautiful Spring Botanicals Daffodil stamp set...

I stamped the daffodil directly on the card base and then stamped and cut out a mask.  As well as covering up the daffodil, I also masked off the bottom right corner with low tack tape.  I then ink blended the background in three shades of Distress Oxide Ink and then sprinkled some water drops and blotted to remove the colour.  The sentiments were heat embossed in white on some black cardstock and these were adhered on 3D foam.  To finish I added some scattered clear gems.

Materials used:

  • Stamps: Uniko - Spring Botanicals Daffodil
  • Ink: Memento - Tuxedo Black; Distress Oxide - Rustic Wilderness, Squeezed Lemonade, Dried Marigold; VersaMark
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opague Bright White
  • Clear gems from stash

For my second card I used emboss resist with Spring Botanicals Snowdrop and the sentiment is from the Simply Said stamp set...

On a die cut panel I stamped the snowdrops in VersaMark ink and heat embossed in white.  I then blended up from the bottom corner using two shades of Distress Oxide.  I then "painted" the snowdrops with water and blotted with kitchen paper to remove the ink.  I stamped the sentiment in black and adhered the panel flat to the card base.

Materials used:
  • Stamps: Uniko - Spring Botanicals Snowdrop, Simply Said
  • Ink: VersaMark; Distress Oxide - Speckled Egg, Shabby Shutters; Versafine Clair - Nocturne
  • Embossing Powder: Wow! - Opague Bright White
  • Die: Create a Smile - Cool Cuts Scalloped Rectangles

Here are all the Spring Botanicals stamp sets in their entirety...
